Gusty wind and mountain snow; end of weak storm system

DENVER — Windy conditions continue Monday in the mountains, foothills and Front Range. Mountain wind gusts will be between 30 and 80 mph. Front Range gusts will be between 20 and 50 mph.

Winds calm Monday night but then flare up again Tuesday for a short period and again on Wednesday.

We’ll stay partly to mostly sunny Monday in Denver with a high of 45 degrees.

Snow continues off-and-on in the mountains (Interstate 70 and north) with 1-3 inches of additional accumulation. Snow tapers off Monday night.

Drier conditions are expected statewide Tuesday and Wednesday.

The next storm system arrives Thursday and Friday. Mountain snow is likely.  Three to 8 inches of accumulation is forecast at the ski areas. The track of the storm leaves Denver with only a small snow chance.

Drier weather arrives Saturday and Sunday.
