LOVELAND, Colo. — A man accused of taking a female from her parent’s house against her will was arrested Sunday night after allegedly firing off a round from a handgun during a domestic dispute.
According to police, a preliminary investigation later revealed that the man, 20-year-old Greeley resident Audie Castillo, had actually not taken the female against her will. But he was still taken into custody on seven counts — the most serious of which were three counts of Felony Menacing, a class 5 felony.
Loveland Police received a 911 call reporting the initial disturbance in the 2300 block of Kermesite Court at approximately 5:39 p.m.
“The caller reported the male (Castillo) fired one round from a handgun during the disturbance and took their daughter without consent,” Lt. Jan Burreson wrote in a release.
Castillo was later located driving eastbound approximately two miles from the site of the disturbance — in the 3500 block of E. Eisenhower — with the female. Police pulled Castillo over and were able to safely arrest him. He was then transport him to the Medical Center of the Rockies for the minor injuries he sustained in the altercation.
