DENVER — A Golden man allegedly fired two rounds into the ground after being “doorbell ditched” early Sunday, Golden police Capt. Daryl Hollingsworth reported.
Officers responding around midnight to a report of shots fired at 17132 W. 16th Ave. interviewed 46-year-old resident Ture Hoefner. Upon investigation, police determined that Hoefner had fired his revolver into the ground after someone had twice rung his doorbell and run off before he could answer, police said.
Police discovered that four neighborhood children under the age of 12 may have been responsible for the prank. The parents of the children were contacted and said they were not aware the kids had left home.
Officers seized the firearm and issued Hoefner a summons for reckless endangerment, unlawful use of a firearm and unlawfully discharging a firearm. He has no existing criminal record.
