DENVER — Travelers across the world rank their 10 favorite restaurants in the country and a Denver spot makes it on the list. The tables at Fruition on East 6thAve. are always set for a meal to remember.
“We’re a neighborhood bistro, we serve what we consider sophisticated comfort food,” said maitre d’ and co-owner, Paul Attardi.
Fruition is the brainchild of Attardi and Chef Alex Seidel. In the more than five years the restaurant has been open, it has consistently topped best-of lists.
“Food and Wine, Bon Appétit, TripAdvisor has ranked us number one since the first day we opened, Yelp has ranked us #1 since the first day we opened. We’ve been number one in the Zagat guide for three years running,” Attardi said.
The latest acclaim: TripAdvisor travelers ranked Fruition among the 10 best in the nation. So what makes the restaurant so popular?
“We’re very home oriented,” Attardi said. “We want you to feel comfortable when you walk in. We want you to feel like you’re walking into somebody’s home, just sitting down, having a meal with them.”
One of the things that sets Fruition apart is the fact that much of the food you’ll see on your plate was grown right here in Colorado on their very own farm.
“There are greenhouses there which supply us with baby greens and fresh herbs all year round,” Attardi said. “He also has about 60 head of sheep.”
On any given night the few tables are booked far in advance. Diners are lined up before the restaurant even opens, ready to experience some of the best food in the country.
At Fruition you can expect farm-fresh food and amazing service. And Attardi recommends his favorite dish that you don’t want to miss.
“It’s a dessert that we’ve had from day one; we will never take it off. I order one or two of those every single night to take home with me,” he said. “It’s a lemon meringue pie with blueberry compote. It’s a knockout.”
Fruition is open seven days a week for dinner only. You’ll find it in Denver at 1313 East 6thAve.
