DENVER — Auto row on South Wadsworth might be super busy this holiday weekend, because of blending of Memorial Day and hail storm sales.
“We are looking at 20-25 percent off MSRP and perhaps up to 50 percent off on used cars damaged by the three days of hail our inventory was subjected to,” said salesman Gene Rivik. “We are going to have to discount most of the 400 cars in our lot.”
Up and down auto row, auto reps are eager to offer good deals during the upcoming weekend. At Phil Long Ford the story is the same.
“Our sales are always super, but now this will be ‘fricking’ unbelievable!” said Randolph Warren. “We can’t say how much you will save but we know you will get an awesome deal.”
At Peak Kia, sales reps say if you are looking for a car, the hail storm coupled with Memorial Day, could make a big difference in what you could pay for a new or used car.

Alpine Buick GMC, which is located on South Wadsworth Boulevard between West Quincy Avenue and West Belleview Avenue, wrote in a press release that an effort was being made to sell out their damaged inventory. Discounts of up to $10,000 or 50 percent were expected to be offered.
Dealership owner Mike Drawe estimated the damage affected 98 percent of his inventory, and was valued at around $10 million.
“Damage is cosmetic in all cases, and can also be fixed at Alpine’s Service Center,” the dealership indicated.
The hail sale is happening in the Springs, too.
Signature Kia, in south Colorado Springs was less detailed about their hail sale, and even took a tongue-in-cheek approach to it, tweeting out this photo as hail fell on Colorado Springs Wednesday afternoon.

Later that evening, sales manager Todd Fray noted that every car in the dealership’s lot “got pummeled … including my personal 2013 Ford Flex.”
Fray later indicated the dealership would be having a hail sale through the end of May on those damaged vehicles.
