DENVER — Four people were taken into custody after an attempted robbery of a liquor store that included gunfire followed by a police chase late Monday night, the Denver Police Department said.
Just before 11 p.m., five suspects attempted to rob a liquor store in the 1800 block of South Sheridan Boulevard, police said.
Gunfire was exchanged and the suspects fled the scene. One of the suspects was dropped off at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police said it’s unclear if the suspect was shot by the liquor store employee or if the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, police said.
Officers later saw the suspects’ vehicle and gave chase until police used a PIT maneuver, causing the driver to lose control at Cedar Avenue and Raritan Street.
Two males and two females were placed under arrest.
