BERTHOUD, Colo. — A former Berthoud police officer has been found guilty on child sexual assault charges, according to court records.
A jury found Jeremy Yachik guilty on two counts of child sex abuse on Friday afternoon.
The charges were filed against Yachik in September 2015 for crimes that allegedly happened in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Yachik will be sentenced at 3 p.m. on Jan. 26.
In a separate case in July 2014, Yachik was sentenced to three years of supervised probation and 30 days in a work release program for the abuse on his daughter.
Yachik was fired from the Berthoud Police Department in October 2013 after the video surfaced.
Soon after Yachik was fired and the police chief resigned, the Berthoud Police Department shut down and now the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office handles law enforcement in Berthoud.
