CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Fire crews worked to put out a house fire Tuesday afternoon that witnesses said was started by lightning.
The fire started about 3 p.m. in the 4000 block of Brilliance Drive in the Meadows neighborhood. Lightning struck the home, causing it to catch fire.
The whereabouts of two cats inside the home at the time of the fire were unknown. The homeowners were not inside the home when it caught fire.
No injures were reported.
More than 35 firefighters from Castle Rock Fire and Rescue, South Metro Fire Authority, Larkspur Fire Protection District and Jackson County Fire Departments responded to the scene.
