DENVER — Plans for redevelopment of the area around the light rail and bus station at Broadway and Interstate 25 have some commuters worried about losing parking spaces.

The city and RTD are planning a huge retail and open-space complex in the area. But some complain parking is not one of the priorities of the plan and it will be reduced for commuters who rely on the transit station.

“My concern is the loss of parking spaces in the major light rail station that services the hub of downtown … that’s Broadway,” said Virgil Ridgley, who parks at the Broadway Station.

A public hearing before the Planning Board will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
