DENVER — A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a driver in southwest Denver on Monday night, the Denver Police Department said.

The crash happened at West Hampden Avenue and South Sheridan Boulevard about 7:30 p.m.

Eastbound Hampden Avenue was closed from Wadsworth Boulevard to Sheridan Boulevard because the crash.

The name, age and gender of the person who died were not released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
