ESTES PARK, Colo. — The theme of the community meeting Friday night in Estes Park was “Mountain Strong.”

It was hosted by the city’s iconic Stanley Hotel, a place residents saw as a much-needed area to release some steam.

Many residents were seeing each other for the first time since the devastating floods. Some of the major highways into Estes Park are still closed.

Saturday and Sunday welcomes the 15th annual Elk Fest, as the region celebrates the Elk mating season. There was some thought the 2013 Elk Fest would not happen, but when you are “Mountain Strong,” the show must go on.
