Englewood double assualt leaves one in critical condition

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. –Police are investigating two cases of first-degree assault that happened in Englewood Friday, which left one man in critical condition.

Officers responded to 4744 S. Acoma St. near south Broadway after reports that two people were seriously injured from being assaulted.

According to the Englewood Police Department, police arrived to find a 56-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man with serious bodily injury.

Police said 28-year-old Codell Loats is suspected of assaulting the two. He is currently in custody at the Arapahoe County Jail on $50,200 bond. Loats has a criminal history, and this is not the first time he has been arrested for assault.

The names of the victims are not currently being released. Neighbors told FOX 31 that the victims are Loats’ parents. The suspect is scheduled for a court appearance on Sept. 17 at the Arapahoe County District Court.
