DENVER — A woman in her 80s accused of hitting two teens in southeast Denver on Wednesday might have a history of reckless driving.
The teens were along South Nielsen Street near East Yale Avenue when the crash happened. The elderly driver kept going before ending up on the grass in a park about six blocks away.
After some digging, the Audi with the same license plate as the vehicle in the crash was also involved in another hit-and-run in October. That driver said the woman’s son told police he would get his mother a driver.
“It was surprising she was driving, but it wasn’t surprising that it was her who ran someone over. When we saw the blue car and in that area, we knew immediately who it was,” a man involved in the October incident said.
Police have not identified the elderly driver and she has yet to be charged.
