Early-morning fire damages Erie home

ERIE, Colo. -– An early-morning fire damaged a home in Erie on Friday morning and sent a firefighter to the hospital.

No one was home when the fire was reported just after 3 a.m. in the 3900 block of Beasley Drive, near Highway 287 and Arapahoe Road.

Fire crews from the Mountain View Fire Protection District and Lafayette were able to contain the fire in about 15 minutes.

There was damage to the second floor and the roof of the two-story home partially collapsed.

One firefighter was taken to a hospital with an elbow injury.

Neighbors saw the fire and called 911. The owners of the home have not been located.
