GOLDEN, Colo. - A man has been displaced from his home following a fire in his attic early Thanksgiving morning.

The fire broke out in the 2000 block of Braun Drive just before 2:25 a.m.

West Metro Fire responded and crews say the man inside and his three dogs got out safely, thanks to a Good Samaritan who came by to wake up the resident and let him know that his attic was on fire.

Firefighter able to douse fire in short amount of time, but West Metro Fire says the home is uninhabitable because there is too much damage to the roof.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the fire, but FOX31 Denver's Greg Nieto says crews on scene were saying the fire's cause seems to be electrical in nature.
