BRIGHTON, Colo. — A crash between a motorcycle and a Chevrolet Suburban SUV killed a man Saturday afternoon, the Brighton Police Department said.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. on southbound Highway 85 at 124th Avenue, and was caused by the SUV, killing the motorcyclist, police said.

Police said the motorcycle was stopped a light when the Chevrolet drove up behind it in the same lane and hit it.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as 33-year-old Brian White of Castle Rock.

Drugs are suspected to have played a part in the accident, police said. White was taken into custody for vehicular homicide.

The name of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of his family.
