NORTHGLENN, Colo. — A drive-by shooting left one man injured and forced an elementary school to move kids to another location where their parents had to pick them up on Thursday afternoon.

Crime scene tape and evidence markers were evident at The Studio School. None of the kids was hurt, but there were some scary moments after a 19-year-old was hit in a drive-by shooting next to the school about 1:15 p.m.

Northglenn police said two men were walking down the sidewalk by the school when someone drove by and fired several shots at them. One man was hit and ran on to school property.

Investigators said the shots were fired away from the school and no one inside was in any danger, but the school was locked down as a precaution and the kids were bussed to another school where anxious parents could pick them up.

There is no word on the victim’s condition.

Police said the vehicle is a gold Mercury SUV and ask anyone with info to call the police.
