DIA ramp worker injured in fuel pump crash

DENVER – A baggage handler at Denver International Airport was hospitalized Monday after his ramp vehicle collided with a gas pump, airport managers said.

The accident happened at about 1 p.m. at a fuel station for airport vehicles at Concourse A. According to DIA spokeswoman Laura Coale, the worker’s “Tug” crashed into the fuel pump, sparking a fire.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. The worker was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

No flights were delayed.
