DENVER — The Denver Zoo announced that a 19-year-old, female sloth will be a new addition to their Aquatics Room of Bird World exhibit.

The Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth was named Charlotte Greenie, according to Denver Zoo spokesperson, Tiffany Barnhart.

Charlotte came from the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in Ohio.

Here in Denver, she met her new mate a 24-year-old sloth named Elliot. The staff at the zoo said they get along wonderfully.

Two-toed sloths can weigh between 10 to 20 pounds and reach almost 30 inches in length, according to Barnhart. They feed on leaves and fruits and spend most of their time in trees. Sloths are also known to be very good swimmers.
