DENVER -- The Denver Zoo is hoping you’ll fall in love with them this weekend. The zoo is offering buy one get one free admission if you say “I love Denver Zoo” at the admission gates. It’s going on through Monday and on Saturday love was certainly in the air.

One look around the zoo Saturday afternoon and you’d see summertime garb smack dab in the middle of February. Sabrina Contreras remarked about her boyfriend’s outfit. "He`s in shorts and a tee shirt. It`s pretty warm out."

Cupid’s mark is evident in a sea of red and pink. It’s obvious it’s all about love. Even the animals were perfectly paired.

Nolan Peralta said, "It`s something you can spend a day doing no real pressure."

Indeed. On a day when the average cost to shower your Valentine with flowers and candy is about $142 according to the National Retail Federation, the Denver Zoo is helping families and couples cut costs.

Marquita Smith just moved to Denver three months ago. She said,  "It`s so nice. Me and my family came out on Valentine`s Day and just wanted to enjoy the weather at this zoo. This is actually my first time at the zoo." Adding, "I like it, I`m going to go try the restaurants and the food. I was in line for the barbeque, but the line got too long."

No surprise because birds of a feather flock together and when it’s warm, Coloradans fly the coup and fill the zoo just like Jenny Wade and her daughter Kendall.  "She`s been running the whole time so it`s been fun getting her out of the house."
