DENVER — The Denver District Attorney on Tuesday formally charged a Lincoln High School track coach with felony sex assault on a child for allegedly carrying on a relationship with student for five months.
Oscar Ponce, 34, was freed on bond after his initial arrest and is now considered missing.
Ponce, a counselor and coach at Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver, “unlawfully subjected a teenage student at the school to sexual contact on numerous occasions between December 2010 and May 2011,” said District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Lynn Kimbrough.
He has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Anyone with information about Ponce’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or text information to CRIMES (274637).
