The ICE Team won a sales staff contest for 2012 and the prize is awesome. A round-trip, all-expenses paid trip to New Orleans and Super Bowl XLVII for two.

But, because one of the ICE Team members lost his son four years ago, a foundation was set up by Steve Burtis in memory of his son, Christopher.

“I just enjoy seeing good from tragedy,” said Burtis. “When we found out the ICE Team had won, we just thought it would be a wonderful idea to donate the prize to the Theater Victims Fund.

"The Fund picked a winner and it turned out he (Jarell Brooks) was a huge Baltimore Ravens fan…what could be better?”

The team presented Jarell with his once-in-a-lifetime prize at their offices in the Denver Tech Center Thursday.

Jarell showed up wearing red, black and white only to find out the team had put up decorations to match—to which Brooks said, “God works in mysterious ways!”

“I never thought anything good could come out of this deadly tragedy,” said Brooks. “But indeed something good did come, this trip is amazing.”

The trip includes airfare, official Super Bowl parties, food and all that comes with the big game.

For the ICE Team, which sells furniture, this is a wonderful way to begin 2013 in more ways than one—doing something spectacular for someone else!
