DENVER — Denver police officers arrested a man they described as armed and dangerous in the 4700 block of Vasquez, the Denver Police Department said Friday.

Jesus Alberto Garcia-Chavez — who also goes by Adrian Chavez, Efren Luna, Eskimo, Chewie and Chucho — committed several violent crimes early Sunday morning, police said.

Garcia-Chavez is currently being held for 1st degree assault, 3 counts of kidnapping, domestic violence, felony menacing, and 2 counts of possession of a weapon by a previous offender, police said on Friday.

Officers originally issued an alert on Thursday afternoon asking for the public’s help in finding Garcia-Chavez.
