DENVER — Denver Crime Stoppers offers up to $2,000 for information that leads to the capture of the suspected killer of a woman in Denver.

Denver police issued an alert for Pedro Rios Lopez, in connection with the murder of his estranged wife, Berta Rios Lopez.

DPD also released a photo of what Pedro Lopez’s vehicle looks like:  a 2003, Maroon Kia.

Sources tell FOX31 Denver that Friday night, Pedro Lopez waited for Berta to come back to her southwest Denver home on S. Bryant St.

Investigators say he stabbed her to death, then left her body in the bathtub. Her two little girls who were with a babysitter, found her early the next morning when they returned home.

“He didn’t look like a bad guy,” says next door neighbor, Carlos Banuelos.

Berta Lopez ‘s daughters are 12 and 10.

A spokesperson with the Denver Police Department says he doesn’t know where the children are staying, but did say the first priority is always to place children with relatives.
