Denver police officer injured in Capitol Hill crash

DENVER — An officer was involved in a crash near the State Capitol on Tuesday night, the Denver Police Department said.

The crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. at East 14th Avenue and Grant Street after police said a driver ran a red light.

Police said there were injuries but they did not appear to be life-threatening. The officer and the driver were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Several officers responded to the scene and the intersection was closed during the investigation.
