DENVER — Morey Middle School in Denver was briefly placed on lockdown Monday morning after a report of a threat at the school.
Denver police tweeted about 9:55 a.m. that officers were responding to a report of a threat. A tactical team was seen in the area.
Kristy Armstrong with Denver Public Schools said the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
The scare was related to a student who had been involved in a fight last week and subsequently threatened to bring a gun to school, police said. Officers spoke to several parties involved in the incident and determined there was no real danger.
No gun was found and no arrests were made, police said.
Morey is along E. 14th Avenue and Emerson Street in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
