Denver Police cruiser involved in crash in front of State Capitol building

DENVER — A Denver Police officer was taken to a hospital as a precaution after an accident between a cruiser and an SUV in front of the State Capitol building early Tuesday morning.

The accident after midnight happened near Lincoln Street and East 14th Avenue that resulted in a black Acura SUV to roll and stop on its roof.

There were no injuries and the officer was sent to the hospital strictly as a precaution, the Denver Police Department said.

Police did not say what caused the crash or who was at fault.
