DENVER -- The metro area's rental market is red hot right now. And renters need to be on the lookout for scams.

One man is accused of taking rental deposits without ever turning over the keys.

One couple was taken for $2,000 ... at a time when the woman was nine months pregnant.

The accused scammer, Andres Torres, took their check and cashed it according to police. The thin is, they say he cashed the same checks from at least three other people for a condominium in the Lowry area.
