DENVER -- A Denver man enjoyed the ultimate Father's Day gift, getting his life back thanks to a selfless act from a man he hadn't spoken to in 20 years.

Chad Logan and Steve Kostiuk were football teammates during high school in Edgewater. And now they share a bond that can never be broken.

On May 13, Logan donated one of his kidneys to Kostiuk. Kostiuk's kidneys started to fail in October and he had to start emergency dialysis.

He said dialysis took 10 hours to cleanse his blood of toxins and kept him from enjoying a full life with his four children.

But on April 5, he got the call from Presbyterian Saint Luke's Hospital that they had a living donor. Kostiuk said what Logan did for him is beyond anything he could have ever expected.
