DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — 4th of July heat along with passing storms and lightning helped contribute to some small wildland fires in Roxborough Park Friday.

West Metro Fire along with crews from South Metro Fire hustled to the scenes to douse the flames before they grew into bigger problems.

West Metro said the fires happened near Roxborough Park Road south of Titan Road. About six acres burned.

The fires didn’t cause any damage other than to the land they charred.
