Denver, Colorado – An Arvada couple is facing more than a dozen charges after investigators accused them of running a chop shop through their Denver based towing business.
“Charles Wayne Wrenfrow and Michelle Jean Wrenfrow are each charged by indictment with violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act (COCCA), (F2), conspiracy to commit theft by receiving (F4) and 19 counts of theft by receiving (F3 and F4),” according to the Denver District Attorney spokesperson Lynn Kimbrough.
Investigators first learned of a possible theft operation after a Colorado resident reported seeing his stolen car’s parts up for sale on Craigslist.
On Thursday, FOX31 Denver reached out to the Wrenfrow’s for comment on the allegations but the family requested an attorney before making any statements to the press.
“They were able to identify 19 different vehicles that were part of this, there’s no telling how many they weren’t able to identify.” added Kimbrough.
Both the husband and wife are out on a $100,000 bond.
