Gov. Polis: 796 Coloradans hospitalized with COVID-19 including 11 children


DENVER (KDVR) — Governor Jared Polis provided an update on Thursday about the state’s recovery efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gov. Polis said 796 Coloradans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 103 are vaccinated.

Five kids aged 0-11 are in the hospital with COVID-19 and six people age 12-17 are hospitalized with COVID-19, according to the governor.

“Be careful, get vaccinated and if you’re in a large group, wear a mask,” shared Gov. Polis.

The governor announced details of the COVID-19 Primary Care Vaccination Program. The partnership will help doctors with outreach of getting those who haven’t yet been vaccinated get vaccinated, according to Gov. Polis.

Applications for the program start today and will end in November.
