COVID-19 continues to rise in Colorado, ICU bed shortages reported

DENVER (KDVR) — The COVID-19 delta variant continues to spread across Colorado. As of Monday, an average of 85% of ICU beds in the state are in use, which is the highest amount since Nov. of 2020.

As of Monday, the state’s seven day positivity rate was 6.69%, which is up from 6.55%. The highest positivity rate in the state over the past seven days is Phillips County with 19% positivity.

From Aug. 23 to Aug. 30, 35 counties saw a rise in COVID-19 positivity, 25 saw a decline in COVID-19 positivity, two counties had no movement and two counties administered less than ten tests in the past week.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the incidence rates are also rising over the last seven days.
