DENVER -- A Montbello family was shaken up Wednesday when a stray bullet crashed through their front window.

Jessica Lockner and her four young children were enjoying a quiet morning when the bullet tore through the window, went through the kitchen and out into the back.

She was sitting on the couch and said the bullet came within inches of her head at the home near Maxwell Place and Atchison Street.

“Six inches from my head, I’m still pretty shaken up about it," Lockner said.

Lockner said she dropped to the floor and told the children to crawl to the basement.

None of them was hurt, but the Denver Police Department believes the same drive-by shooters had just injured a 19-year-old man and shot out the window of a vehicle about a block away.

Police think the Lockner home was hit randomly, but the family said it’s still very upsetting and shocking.

Police are not releasing any information about the suspects or their vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
