Broomfield police shoot, kill dog after owner collapses in front of home

BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- A police officer shot and killed a dog in a Broomfield neighborhood after it bit two people Friday morning.

It's being investigated the same as any officer-involved shooting, even though it involved an animal.

Neighbors say the dog's owner is an elderly man who suddenly collapsed in front of his home.

A woman ran to help him, but the dog became aggressive.
