COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was looking for a suspect after a body was found in a Colorado Springs storage unit facility.

The body was found on the 4400 block of East Platte Avenue around 9:15 a.m. Friday. Around 6 p.m., the death investigation was upgraded to a homicide investigation.

The sheriff’s office was looking for James T. Woo, 38. He is 5-foot-8, weighing 120 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.

KRDO reported Woo was tracked down at the Seattle airport, where he was trying to fly to Hong Kong, and has been taken into custody on first-degree murder charges.

Deputies have not released the name or age of the victim, pending autopsy results and family notification.

Representatives with the sheriff’s office told KRDO that Woo is a U.S. citizen suspected of placing the body into the victim’s minivan and parking it in the storage unit, which was rented under his name.

It’s unclear when the vehicle was parked there. Authorities did not disclose the victim’s cause of death or if there was a connection between the victim and Woo.

The sheriff’s office told KRDO that detectives will travel to Seattle and question Woo, presumably before efforts to extradite him to Colorado begin.
