Young black bear captured in Arvada

ARVADA, Colo. -- Officials found a black bear wandering around Arvada and Wheat Ridge neighborhoods on Sunday morning.

The bear was roaming in the area of West 52nd Avenue and Marshall Street, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said.

Crews were called to tranquilize the bear, which was determined to be a female between 1 and 2 years old.

She was tagged and transported to a safer location.

Wheat Ridge and Arvada police also helped track the location of the bear.
