BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A teenage girl was struck and ended up trapped underneath a vehicle on Monday morning after skidding on a patch of ice while riding a bicycle, the Broomfield Police Department said.

The incident happened just after 7 a.m. at Miramonte Boulevard and Main Street. The girl was trapped under the vehicle for a short time, and a large police and first responder presence extracted her.

The girl was conscious and breathing when she was taken to the hospital, police said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
