DENVER — Photographers across Colorado captured the biggest supermoon in 68 years Sunday night into Monday morning.  Did you see it?

The supermoon rose Sunday at 4:43 p.m. on the eastern horizon and set on Monday at 6:44 a.m. behind the mountains.

Why is it “super?” It’s 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than typical full moons. The next supermoon of equal size doesn’t occur until 2034.

The photo gallery features a handful of the best supermoon photographs from across Colorado.  The photographers include Steve Hirsch, John Williams, Jeremy Swanson, Ryan Benjamin, Ryan Lucey, Dick Knapp and Patrick Dillon.
