AURORA, Colo. — Police are searching for a man who they said kidnapped a 15-year-old girl as she was walking on a busy road earlier this month.
Police said the girl was walking south on the west side of Sable Boulevard on April 7 when a man driving an SUV forced her into the back seat. The man told the girl his name was “Chris.”
The suspect drove the girl to the parking lot of a business and got into the back seat with her. He then attempted to remove the girl’s clothing and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The girl was able to open the back right door and escape. The man then drove away.
The girl described the suspect as a light-skinned black man in his late 20s or early 30s, with a shaved (not bald) head and a goatee that was about 3 inches long.
The vehicle was described as a silver, full-sized SUV, possibly a 2015 or 2016, with dark-tinted windows and no license plates. There might be temporary registration displayed in the back window.
Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police Sgt. Bob Wesner at 303-739-6093 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
