AURORA, Colo. — Overland High School secured the perimeter of its campus Thursday morning, as a result of a police search for an robbery suspect.

Cherry Creek School District spokesperson Tustin Amole said the secured perimeter was put in place at 9:45 a.m., continuing to say the security measure was due to a police search for a man who attempted to rob a nearby store.

Police scanner traffic indicated that an armed individual attempted to rob a MoneyTree location at 16890 East Iliff Avenue, which is just three miles east of Overland High School. The scanner traffic also indicated that a vehicle used in the attempted robbery may be a car stolen from Glendale Thursday night.

That scanner traffic was unconfirmed as of 10:15 a.m. Thursday.
