LITTLETON, Colo. -- For 40 years, Reinke Brothers Costume Shop has been making scary a one-stop shop. Greg Reinke likes to call it the best little horror shop in Colorado.

In 2014, the big shop of horrors was hit hard by hail.

“It was catastrophic.” Reinke said.

A $2.2 million renovation needs the finishing touch, a nice scary montage of monsters, witches, warlocks and everything in-between.

That’s where longtime employee Stephan Clark comes in. Being the store’s makeup artist, Clark volunteered to paint the inside of the 20,000-square-foot facility. So far, Clark has painted more than 15,000 linear feet.

Nothing is stopping Clark’s passion, except maybe a shattered wrist he suffered when he fell from the scaffolding. So what did he do? Started right back painting, but this time, with his left hand.

They say all true artists suffer inner pain. For Clark, the Michelangelo of monsters, it’s all in a day’s work.
