DENVER — Dozens of artists will be out in Denver’s River North neighborhood this week for Colorado Crush.

Colorado Crush is a weeklong event dedicated to the craft of street art and muraling, the website said.

Artists will be painting murals on restaurants, shops and homes on Larimer Street, between Broadway and 35th Street.

The independent art festival started Monday and continues through Sunday.

“The Crush brings art out of the gallery and into the streets,” organizers wrote.

Specifically, the alley between Larimer and Walnut streets from about 26th to 29th streets is where the event is located.

Each year, the alley gets a fresh coat of paint and becomes a blank canvas again.

More than 70 local and nationally recognized urban artists, street artists, muralists and graffiti artists are taking part this year’s festival.

Swing by during the week to see the artists transform the blank walls into a unique urban landscape, and get a peek at their plans.

The event is free and open to everyone all week. There will be food, music and activities during the weekend celebration.

“The Crush is on a mission to celebrate art, urban beautification, creativity, and culture by enriching the community through an arts festival like no other.  Centered around empowering artists’ creativity, the Crush is committed to reflecting and diversifying the urban landscape and the unique voice of the community,” organizers wrote.
