LITTLETON, Colo. -- A suspect wanted in two weekend carjackings was arrested late Tuesday night, the Littleton Police Department said. The carjackings happened Saturday and Sunday.

During the course of the investigation, police collaborated with the Aurora Police Department on a carjacking in the city. The investigation led to Tremaine Speer, 32 of Aurora, being identified as a suspect.

Speer was found near Fox Street and West 30th Avenue in Denver on Tuesday night. He was taken into custody about 11:20 p.m. He is being held on a parole violation pending further charges related to the carjackings.

On Sunday, a woman was injured after being pistol-whipped during an armed carjacking in the parking lot of the Littleton Museum, police said.

The suspect took a black Buick Lacrosse with Colorado license plate 621-EUQ at 6028 S Gallup St.

On Saturday, a woman was sitting in her vehicle outside an apartment complex in the 4600 block of West Mineral Avenue when a man approached and made threatening statements.

Police said he had a firearm in his hand and demanded the 2002 black Toyota Celica with Colorado license plage 587-EOY. The woman got out and the suspect drove away. The woman was not injured.

The suspect in both carjackings was described as black heavy-set male in his late teens or early 20s who was wearing black sweatpants and a black shirt.
