Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a domestic incident about 10:15 a.m. in the 12000 block of West Grand Drive in Morrison, police said. A female left the home, but a male was still inside and refused to come out.
Bomb specialists and a tactical team were staged near the home.
About 3:03 p.m., reporters on the scene said they heard “what sounded like multiple gunshots.” Jacki Kelley of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the suspect and SWAT exchanged gunfire, but that no officers were hurt. The suspect was apparently hit.
Jefferson County officials initiated emergency calls to 62 phones along Grand Avenue warning residents to stay away from windows and doors. They canceled the warning about 4:20 p.m.
