LONGMONT, Colo. — An armed man was still at large Monday morning after allegedly attempting to abduct a woman and her child on Sunday night in Longmont.
According to Longmont Police, the abduction attempt was reported in the 300 block of 15th Avenue around 8:36 p.m. Officers said they initially received reports of man with a black handgun chasing an adult female and her child in the area.
The woman later said the suspect held a gun to her forehead while grabbing the child with his other hand. The suspect fled on foot when a gray truck drove slowly by the scene, according to police.
Police are now trying to track down the individual who was driving the gray truck for further questioning. They are also still attempting to track down and identify the suspect in the case, as further investigation indicates he was possibly trying to abduct the child, according to police.
Though police quickly located the woman and her child after the incident was reported Sunday, they had still not been able to track down the suspect as of Monday morning. He was last seen walking south in the 1400 block of Emery Street.
The man is being sought on attempted kidnapping and felony menacing charges.
He is being described as a white male in his 20s, standing about 5-foot-10 with a medium build and a short goatee. He was wearing a red hat, black t-shirt and khaki shorts at the time of the attack.
