COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Nearly 1,000 Air Force cadets graduated from the Academy Wednesday and officially joined the Long Blue Line.

Each one of the 995 graduates shook the hand of Vice President Joe Biden as they received the diplomas.

In his commencement speech, Biden emphasized what a crucial time we're in, and he urged the next generation of Airmen and women to lead the country forward.

"Your class, has an incredible opportunity to lead and shape a new world order for the 21st century."

The graduates are ready to be the military leaders of the future. America's wars of the last decade are winding down, but they will face the current challenges of global terrorism, emerging democracies and the rising military in China.
