DENVER -- It's been 70 years, but three Colorado veterans who were prisoners of war received the medals that heroes deserve.

The three veterans were taken prisoner by the German military during World War II.

Thanks to Colorado Representative Ed Perlmutter, the men, all of whom are around 90 years old, received a total of eight medals, badges and pins for their service.

Aristea Brady shows us in her video report above that it's recognition that has been a long time coming.
