AURORA, Colo. -- It has happened to most of us: You're driving to work or the kids to school and you get pulled over.

What is the best way to handle your interaction with law enforcement? What are your rights?

Aurora police officers say the key for them -- and you -- is the equation "Calm, Controlled, Courtesy and Comply."

If you're pulled over, the first goal is to get to a safe spot off the road. As officers walk to your vehicle, they realize it's a stressful moment.

"Sometimes people get very nervous, make you feel uncomfortable," Aurora police officer Crystal McCoy said.

An attorney also provides details on your rights during a traffic stop.
