Police asked motorists to avoid the area while they investigated and cleaned up the accident.
Witnesses told FOX31 Denver’s Joshua Hans that a white truck ran a red light, prompting the multi-car collision.
Three individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, two via ambulance and one was driven to the hospital by her husband, Hans said — one victim had to be cut out of a minivan.
Hans reported that a few of the victims might have broken bones, but none appeared to have life-threatening injuries.
Police reopened the intersection shortly after 9:30 a.m.
